Community Eye Clinic -2024.
A community Eye Care Project was organized by Dhammavijaya Foundation in collaboration with several other organizations at the Kalatuwawaththa Purana Viharaya at Kotikawatte, Mulleriyawa where the students of the Dhamma School of the temple and the rural community around the temple were screened, diagnosed and treated. The optometrists and medical team, including Dr. Nalin Gunasinghe who is a Trustee of the Dhammavijaya Foundation, conducted eye examinations in several stages. During this campaign, 120 patients were identified and underwent complete eye examinations out of 550 referred for primary eye screening. Spectacles were provided for 75 of them on 23rd of March 2024 and 14 others were selected for eye-lens transplants. Below are some of the photos taken during the project.
